Good day Everyone! Wish everyone started with a great morning. After all it's weekend! These past few days I'm making it a habit to wake up a little early on the weekends to walk around the neighborhood to get some snapshots of some seemingly ordinary things I have taken for granted due to a very very busy routine. I love taking photos of things I have seen around and getting closer to appreciate their beauty made me relax and realized beautiful things always come out from the seemingly ordinary and it just takes a heart to appreciate it. Here are some of the snaps I took and I like to share with you. Enjoy!

 WONDERFUL WEEKEND EVERYONE!

Happy Friday Beauties! I hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. I was having a night class on Thanksgiving but I didn't forget to be thankful for all that is making me happy and those that made me strong. I am thankful for family and friends and the wonderful people I met. I am grateful that today, I can still be thankful for a grand and beautiful life and much that I am sharing it with wonderful people I love.

And since the hubsy and the me couldn't make it to celebrate Thanksgiving exactly on it's day, we had it earlier; had a wonderful dinner out (since the truth be told... I couldn't cook) and still had a wonderful time. And yes, I get to wear the new eyeshadows that I bought for the season. And like always, I am very happy to share it with you my easy Thanksgiving Dinner/Holiday Look.

On my face
Prep: Bourjois BB Cream 8-1 in 21 Vanilla/Vanilla
and I set it with the Bourjois Mattifying Compact powder in 71 Beige Clair

I totally forgot I got these few months ago. I remember I didn't really get to like it the first time I used it but then I realized it gives out a better result when applied over a great makeup base. So, I guess I would be using these products more in my makeup look now that I was able to figure out how to really make it work.

after prepping my eyebrows and my lids I applied the Absolute Colour 640 Don't Touch my Mosserati and 580 Carrots of the Caribbean by Catrice.

X1 - apply above the crease
x2 - apply on the lids

Then I used two shades from my Nudy Brown Palette to tone down the colors a bit.
x3 - apply on the outer crease corner and blend towards the inner corner.
x4 - apply on the outer eyelid corner to create a subtle gradient.

On my cheeks, I used the blushes that I got from KMA (forgot the names of the shades)
x1 - contour the nose, the cheeks and the jawline
x2 - apply on the apples of the cheeks.

...and on my lips I use the Ultimate Colour 050 Princess Peach by Catrice.

...and the look that I came up with.

Thank you so much Everyone for all the love and support and I wish you all a Wonderful Weekend!

Hi guys, it's already Friday. Where did all the days go? it's been a while since I haven't done any ThriftTease makeup look so I am catching up with what I missed so far ;).... I've really been busy with school lately... and yup, day to day whereabouts that I didn't honestly find any time to do some makeup reviews, explore and find interesting new products, create makeup looks and whatever we girls do. So, today I thought I'd share with you my easy, easy, easy (it's the coffee again, so please pardon me) go to makeup look I do everyday. I'ts really fast, easy and light.

#1 - I prep my face with moisturizer and some makeup base. Then I apply a thin coat of the Dream Matte mousse by Maybelline. Actually this is my go to mousse foundation if I don't want to make any effort at all with makeup.
# 2 - After applying on some concealer on my under eye area, I set it with a compact powder from Maybelline.

# 3 - On my eyes. I prep my brows with my brow pencil and put on some eyeshadow base.
# 4 - I use the In2It Eye Colour Palette in ESC 03 Sorbet deluxe to create a light pink-ish eye shadow effect.
x1 - apply all over the lid towards the brow bone.
x2 - apply over the crease
x3 - apply on the upper lid. Then I put over my favorite liquid eye liner by Maybelline

# 5 - I use the Photography blusher in no. 05 by Mistine to lightly contour my face and add a little blush using the Silky Blush Touch in 20 baby doll by Essence. I also use a little darker contouring blush to contour the sides of my nose to add "an illusion."

Lastly, a line my lips with the lip liner in 04 Honey Bun by Essence and finish of with my favorite, super favorite lipstick, wink for pink 616 by Revlon.

and the look and that I came up with...

There's my very light and easy day to day look. And remember, makeup doesn't exactly change the way who you really are...for some of us, it's just a happy hobby. So, be com'table of who you are and what makes you happy. Again. "happy girls are the prettiest."

HAVE A WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL WEEKEND EVERYONE!

Good morning Beaugorgeous! Wonderful Wednesday I hope.... A very good friend of mine is just starting to experiment with makeup and she get so overwhelmed with all the make up do's and don'ts and products and she's afraid she might "buy the wrong things." I've had a couple of makeup fails myself specially that I wasn't really use to it until later, speaking of being a late bloomer ;) But it just takes getting to yourself and finding out what best work for you, your skin type, and your lifestyle to come out with your own version of how-to-look-done-but-still-be-you.

Anyways, I've already posted a makeup essential blog before but here's my latest say on it.

Moisturizer
Even with an oily to combination skin, it is always best to moisturize your face before applying your makeup basics. Applying a little amount of moisturizer will help soften and dehydrate you skin making it easy for the products to blend in with your skin thus making it look more natural.

This is my basic/must do prep routine before I get too excited putting my eyeshadow, my blushes and all the fun stuff. And yes, I don't really fancy this part of the routine but it is very important to be able to get a very nice makeup do...

no. 1 - make sure that you apply a good makeup base. This is to even out and smoothen the skin. It will also helps the makeup stays longer.

no. 2 - Foundation. You can start with applying a thin foundation (specially if you are in a hot and humid area). I've made a mistake before by buying what the beauty gurus recommend on every beauty sites without thinking about the specific details like if it is good for oily skin, humid weather, if it's matte and all those little things we need to keep in mind. So, the trick is if you are not sure about the product, you can purchase the smallest size they have or even ask for a sample and see if it works. If it does then you can level up by purchasing as many as you want but if not then at least you didn't spend all that money for a product that didn't really work on you. And again, start light. Don't pack on too much.

no. 3 - Concealer. For me this one is optional. But it helps a lot specially if you have "extra" baggy and dark under eyes. Just make sure you blend it nicely so it won't get cakey.

no, 5 - Setting powder. This will help create a finish and matte look as well as help the foundation stay longer.

no. 6 - Eyeshadow Base - This will help the eyeshadow stay longer and it prevents creasing as well. Also most eyeshadows only work best when use with an eyeshadow base.

no. 7 - Get an eye shadow with neutral colors that way you won't look *drastic specially when you are still starting with makeup.

no. 8 - Basic eyebrow pencil. The rule is to get a shade lighter than your hair. Or you can get two colors and blend it together just like our real hair color.

no. 9 - Keep some *Basic Eye Essential. A water proof mascara, to avoid dripping and having panda eyes specially in a hot and humid weather when you can't help sweating a bit. Then get some water proof eye liner. I would recommend eyeliner that are designed like pens so it easier to use.

no. 10 - You can start with 2 basic blushes; one a little darker for contouring (you don't want to do extreme contouring or you will end up looking a bit funny). Then a pink shade or any shade which will add some "blush to your cheeks making you look fresh and glowing.

no. 11 - Get some lipsticks in basic shades so it can go with different makeup looks. I always love nude pink and some light red to go with my everyday look.

So, I did a simple makeup look using all these products, the red lipstick on the right and some shades from the Nudy Brown Complete Palette.

x1 - apply all over the lids
x2 - apply on the lids
x3 - apply over the eye liner and on the lower eye lids.

and the look that I came up with...

So, there's my makeup essentials. It doesn't really have to be a lot and complicated....

HAVE A WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!

Hey there Beautiful people! Hope everyone is up for another week. There's been so many things going on lately and so many unexpected turns making it's way from wherever side of the world. And in as much as I am tempted to say "the sun still shines" it doesn't either. Been raining and raining and raining from this side of the world ( that was on the weekend, it rained non-stop)...but the sun did come out a little bit today. Well, after all that too much sun, it feels good to finally embrace the cold summer rain. Well, in spite of the pouring rain and the lethargy it brings, hubsy and the mwah decided to put our rain boots on and frolic in the rain to our weekend brunch date. We have been really, really busy the past few days but we make sure that we don't skip date nights, movie dates, and even for a short brunch... rain or shine. So, as usual I got to share my Brunch Date Makeup. I decided to play with too much color this time since it's really been very gloomy so I thought wearing a bit of sunshine will help lighten the mood...somehow.

On my face, I used my usual favorite....

L'Oreal Base Magique Base
Soft Touch Mouse in 04 matt ivory by Essence
The product doesn't have any SPF in it so I thought it can work on a rainy day. However, I am not really waving my pompoms for it. The consistency of the  product is a 100% likeness to the Dream Mousse by Maybelline but there is a significant difference when it comes to how they work. I can't really explain how it happens but the product seemed to settle on the creases of your face emphasizing the lines that you so wanted to conceal. Unlike the Dream Mousse which glides smoothly over the skin, this one tends to settle on the lines and the pores making it appear more although I did use a very good base for this one. And usually I just have to use my hands...again, clean hands when applying the mousse, but for this one I have to use a sponge which is to really eliminate most of the products since again, it has made it's way to may "baby wrinkles". Well, using a small amount of foundation powder over it did the trick. But make sure you don't pack on too much foundation powder either or it will make the face appear very "done." For a Sunday brunch you want a light and natural effect and since it's been raining I don't want too much foundation dripping off my face in case we get soaked.

Then I used the the Whitening BB foundation powder SPF 20 in natural to set the mousse foundation
Pure Mineral Concealer by Maybelline
Eyeshadow base by Essence
(which I really love. I didn't even get to try another brand)

On my Eyes I used my October Favorites and my ultimate love which is the...

CANMAKE Eye Brow Kit

...and my October favorites...
Multi-Action False Lashes Mascara by Essence
Kajal Pencil Eye Liner in 21 feel the eclipse by Essence
Eye Liner Pen by Essence

Then I decided to use the Water proof Eye Color Set in EWE 010 Candy by In2IT

x1 - apply on the crease and lightly blend upwards over it.
x2 -  apply on the lids
x3 - with a blending brush apply the color to even out harsh lines

On my cheeks I use the...
Betty in Forever Cheek Color by Mistine
I love how the colors come together (when you swirl your brush on every color) in a beautiful shade of natural pink glow.

on my lips I used the...
Lipliner in 08 red blush by Essence
Lipstick by NYX in 595 Strawberry Milk

....and the look that I came up with

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY EVERYONE!

Hey BeauGorgeous! You guys doesn't have any idea how excited I am to have made it to my next post! yeah, yeah, yeah, call it lame but seems like I have been away for a gazillion years... okay maybe a few days doesn't count as gazillion but life has been very rush lately and you just can't help feeling so overwhelmed and excited over so many things happening at one time...and probably that coffee had something to do with it too... well, it's just that it's been raining, and cold, and you get sleepy but you have to stay awake till midnight to accomplish things and be productive so.... bring in the coffee and more coffee and more... okay shush already!

Anyways... I just want to share with you my go to makeup on a rainy day. And for me nothing beats a gloomy day (yep gloomy but doesn't make me sad really) than to throw in some colors on me face and hop on some puddles in the rain (reminds me to get myself those nice rain boots I saw @ the flea market last week hmmm)....

So moving on already... to prep my face, I have been so in love with the Matte Mousse Foundation by Maybelline. And not just because everyone seems to say so... but it is totally the one foundation that I can rely on these days when it comes to controlling the oil on my face. Well, I think it is also because the weather so so nice and cold so....whatever.... I love it! plus the L'Oreal Base Magique? perfect! perfect! and to conceal dark spots under my eyes, I use the Maybelline Pure Mineral Concealer.

Then I use my all-time favorite go-to (cause I don't have anything else...LOL) products.....

Maybelline Clear Smooth Shine Free Face Powder
Essence Bronzing Compact Powder
Blush from KMA Cosmetics  Face color Palette (re-potted)
 Nose Shadow Powder by CANMAKE

 On my eyes I use...
- the I love stage eyeshadow primer.
- then to add color on my eyes, I use the colors from the 4U2 Gemstone 4 color eyeshadow no. 10 ice to fire.
x1- apply above the crease
x2- apply on the outer crease and blend in towards the inner corner. And on the lower eyelids.

-then to open and brighten my eyes I add a white cream eyeshadow from the Maybelline Color tattoo collection 05 too Cool
x3 - apply on the middle lid and blend with your fingers.

- I also add a dark eyeshadow (from Natural Collection in the Color Midnight)  to add some depth to the outer crease.
x4 - apply on the outer crease and blend.

- I also use the Maybelline Eye liner to line my lids.(no photo)
- and some random mascara that I forgot to photograph...

On my lips I use
- the Sweet Kiss Lip Butter by Oriental Princes
- And apply the lipstick that I got from Mistine in 01 Healthy Pink

And on my brows I use the Brow designer in 02 by Essence. However, I had to retouch so often since this eyebrow pencil doesn't stay on longer... I should have used an eyebrow powder over it.

And the look that I came up with....

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND AHEAD BEAUGORGEOUS!
